Dr. Linda Shires, David and Ruth Gottesman Professor of English and chair of the English department at 九色视频鈥檚 , has essays forthcoming on self-illustrated literary works of Thomas Hardy and Rudyard Kipling. An essay titled 鈥淢atter, Consciousness, and the Human: Hardy鈥檚 Image X texts,鈥 will appear in (55.4, Fall 2015); another titled 鈥淢utual Adaptation in Rudyard Kipling鈥檚 Letters to his Children and Just So Stories鈥 is scheduled for the annual Children鈥檚 Literature (2015). Continuing her interest in nineteenth-century relationships among art, literature, and science, Shires will deliver the Jane Stedman Plenary Lecture at the 鈥淪ense and the Senses鈥 in Iowa City this coming May. Her talk is titled 鈥淐oming to our Senses: Colors in the 19th 颁别苍迟耻谤测.鈥
